The traffic along the Georgian Military Road connecting Georgia and Russia has been closed for trucks due to worsening weather conditions, Interfax news agency reported citing the press service of the Russian North Ossetia Emergencies Ministry on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. The traffic along the Georgian Military Road connecting Georgia and Russia has been closed for trucks due to worsening weather conditions, Interfax news agency reported citing the press service of the Russian North Ossetia Emergencies Ministry on Tuesday.

"Due to worsening weather conditions on the territory of Georgia the movement of heavy vehicles on the section of Vladikavkaz - Lars - in the direction to the exit from the Russian Federation is closed until a special order is issued," the ministry said.

According to the North Ossetian road traffic organization, more than 1.6 thousand trucks are currently waiting to pass along the road.

The Georgian Military Road is currently the only land route linking Russia with Georgia and Armenia. -0-
