YEREVAN, July 29 /ARKA/. Armenia’s national water distributing company Veolia Jur said today it will channel the funds allocated by the government into the renovation of 10 facilities.

On  July 25, the Armenian government decided to allocate 450.5 million drams to the Water Committee. It said the funds resulted from the redistribution of expenditures and revenues of the state budget of 2019.

Under an agreement reached in 2018 autumn by Veolia Jur and the government, the company  will not raise the  current price of  water  until 2025 by reducing investment programs. In turn the government will invest 1.3 billion drams in the development of the system.
Veolia Jur said  the Armenian government intends to make other investments with the aim of improving the system's infrastructure, which together with the company's investments will improve the quality of water supply by maintaining and updating the system.

Veolia Jur CJSC (a subsidiary of the French Veolia Generale des Eaux) is the only national water distribution operator in the country. ($1 - 475.97 AMD). --0--
