VTB Bank (Armenia) offers its customers two-month loan repayment delay

VTB Bank (Armenia) has announced today that its corporate and individual customers are offered a 2-month delay for repayment of the existing and unsecured loans (including the principal amount, interests, payments for services) not exceeding 7 million drams.

YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. VTB Bank (Armenia) has announced today that its corporate and individual customers are offered a 2-month delay for repayment of the existing and unsecured loans (including the principal amount, interests, payments for services) not exceeding 7 million drams. It said the offers applies applies to loans both in Armenian drams and foreign currency.

“We clearly understand how important this decision is for small businesses. The next repayment of all these loan obligations can be made after May 17 (in accordance with the repayment date of each loan established by the schedule, without changing the loan repayment schedule), which will not be considered overdue and consequently, no fines and penalties will be charged for late payments," the bank said in a press release.

The bank said also that the repayment of delayed credits which were to be repaid from March 17 to May 17 (including the the principal amount, interest, payments for services) must be made until October 17 of this year inclusive. Moreover, until October 17, customers can contact the Bank for restructuring / changing the loan repayment schedule / obligations.

The bank said all those loans subject to final / full repayment from March 17 to May 17 in accordance with the repayment schedule (if the client has not paid the principal amount, interests, payments for services), may be repaid  before July 17 of this year, which will not be considered overdue and therefore, fines and penalties will not be charged.

Regarding all other borrowers, VTB Bank (Armenia) said it is ready to display an individual approach based on an application for deferred repayments submitted to the bank by the client. Applications can be submitted online or by calling the Contact Center 87-87.

"Nevertheless, we recommend that all borrowers who continue to receive income and can make payments on loans from March 17 to May 17, pay off their loans in accordance with the original repayment schedule in order to avoid further increases in monthly payments," the bank said.

In Armenia, a total of 160 cases of infection with a new coronavirus were confirmed as of March 21 morning. The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention said the majority of those infected are residents of the town of Echmiadzin, who had participated in an engagement party as well as people who had contacted with an infected person in a Yerevan factory.

The first case of coronavirus infection in Armenia was confirmed on March 1. The patient has already recovered and was discharged from the hospital. Among those infected are Armenian citizens from Iran and Italy (residents of Yerevan, Etchmiadzin, Meghri and Charentsavan) and people who contacted with them, as well as one Italian citizen and a visitor from France. -0-
