YEREVAN, January 17./ARKA/. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will start soon operating flights to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The agreement to that end was reached during Armenian President Armen Sarkissian’s official visit to the UAE.

According to Sarkissian’s press service, Armenian President had a series of meetings with high-ranking officials of the UAE and reached new agreements on expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of air communications.

It was decided that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will start flights to Yerevan in the near future. Sarkissian noted that the new air bridge between the two countries will be another important step towards strengthening trade, economic and business ties between Armenia and the UAE, which will become a significant incentive, in particular, for the development of tourism.

The low-cost airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has been operating since November 2020 and is a joint venture between the state-owned ADQ (owns 51% of the shares) and Wizz Air Holdings (the remaining 49%). The low-cost airline is based at Abu Dhabi International Airport. --0--
