Yandex Go operating conditions have changed in Armenia: rates, fees, and vehicle categories

In Armenia, Yandex Go has set a cap on fare increases during periods of high demand—up to three times the base price.
YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. In Armenia, Yandex Go has set a cap on fare increases during periods of high demand—up to three times the base price. However, the platform does not charge a commission on the portion of the fare exceeding two times the base rate, passing this amount on to the driver and taxi company, according to the press service of the Commission for the Protection of Competition and Consumer Interests of Armenia.
According to the report, at a regular meeting with drivers providing passenger transportation services through digital platforms, the head of the commission, Gegham Gevorgyan, presented the results of work on issues previously raised by drivers regarding Yandex Go.
In particular, a cap has been set for fare increases during periods of high demand. On a quarterly basis, the share of cases where the price reaches three times the base fare cannot exceed 5% of the total number of such cases. Yandex does not charge a commission on the portion of the trip cost above double the base fare, passing the entire amount on to the driver and taxi company.
Furthermore, guaranteed periods for vehicle approval in various fare categories have been established. For the "Start" category, a vehicle remains eligible for operation in this category for at least 10 years from the year of manufacture; for higher categories, the guaranteed period is four years.
At 36 intersections in Yerevan where stopping is prohibited, the platform does not allow booking from the corresponding point. If an extended stop at the selected location is prohibited, the user is informed accordingly.
In the "Business" category, a "I will open the door myself" button has been added, allowing passengers to indicate in advance that the driver's assistance in opening the door is not required. Furthermore, during "mystery shopper" checks, failure to open the door has been removed from the driver assessment criteria.
The low-cost Yandex Go service has also been launched in Armenia. Technical adjustments and monitoring of its operation are currently underway.
The Yandex Plus system has been transitioned to a model whereby the company bears all associated costs. Drivers receive cashback after completing trips.
