YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. The Yerevan City Council of Elders (legislative assembly) will soon adopt new regulations for construction companies regarding the installation of dust protection nets and the improvement of construction sites, announced Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

"We will apply a differentiated approach to those developers who properly improve their construction sites, install protective nets, and air quality meters. Those developers who think this is an unnecessary expense will soon see what a real unnecessary expense is," Avinyan noted at a working meeting at City Hall on Monday.

According to him, regulations directly related to the integrity of developers will be adopted in December.

In August of this year, Yerevan Council of Elders member Isabella Abgaryan from the National Progress faction declared that the city was facing an environmental disaster due to construction dust. According to her, construction is being carried out on a horrific scale with equally horrific violations. Citizens are complaining about the dire situation, the health risks to Yerevan residents, and other problems.

Abgaryan stated that the mayor's office is insufficiently monitoring compliance with environmental requirements at construction sites.-0-
