ZCMC continues to work exclusively within the framework of Armenian legislation
YEREVAN, July 22 /ARKA/. In response to the publication in the newspaper “Past” (Fact) dated July 21 of this year, entitled “Is GeoProMining blackmailing the Armenian government?,” the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) CJSC considers it necessary to make the following statement:
‘The production activities of ZCMC CJSC strictly comply with the legislation and all regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Armenia. This approach is consistently applied by the new owner.
In particular, ore mining at the Kajaran copper-molybdenum deposit continues to be carried out exclusively on the basis of the approved “Environmental Impact Assessment” EIA project (No. BF 108 of December 16, 2016) and the “Technical Safety Assessments” TSA (No. 2819 of October 28, 2016) in accordance with the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On Subsoil”, which excludes selective mining.
In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, ZCMC CJSC annually submits all necessary reports on production activities to the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia. These statements reflect complete information on the actual operating activities of ZCMC CJSC.
Moreover, both in the past and in the present, “ZCMC” CJSC in its activities is guided by the provisions set forth in paragraph 5 of the 1st part of Article 72 of the RA Law “On Subsoil” - preventing selective exploitation of minerals. In this regard, the company's approach with the change of ownership has not changed either.
“ZCMC” CJSC declares that all the facts stated in the publication of the newspaper "Fact" dated 21.07.2022 are false and discredit company’s business reputation.
“ZCMC” CJSC urges that the newspaper “Fact” stop being engaged in equilibristics in their professional activities and not publish unverified and false information. Otherwise, the Company reserves the right to use all the tools established by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, including the resolution of such issues in the court. -0-
