Director for Regulation, ArmenTel, Hayk Faramazyan reported that, the ArmenTel telecommunication company intends to start rendering a new 3G service to its clients before the end of 2007.

YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. The ArmenTel telecommunication company intends to start rendering a new 3G service to its clients before the end of 2007.

Director for Regulation, ArmenTel, Hayk Faramazyan reported that the G3 system is a mobile technology of the 3rd generation designed for the transmission of multimedia images and melodies by by means of mobile communication (MMS service).

Farmazyan said that the company intends to apply to the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission for a license for rendering the 3G services.

He did not report on the cost of the new service, pointing out the prices are being calculated. Farmazyan added that MMS service are rather expensive abroad compared to other GSM services. P.T. –0--
