South Caucasian railways report 8 accidents in last six months

Eight accidents were registered on the South Caucasian Railways (SCR) (formerly Armenian Railways) in the first six months of this year, a SCR’s press release said.
YEREVAN, August 19, /ARKA/. Eight accidents were registered on the South Caucasian Railways (SCR) (formerly Armenian Railways) in the first six months of this year, a SCR’s press release said.
According to the official operative data, 3 of the accidents were reported in a time span between August 14-17 on railway hauls in Masis, Noragavit and Ijevan killing three people.
Worried by the increasing number of accidents on railways the South Caucasian Railways company called on people to observe all safety rules when they are in the zone of trains movement.
The company reminded that pedestrians must cross the railways at special places and use special bridges, tunnels and crossings.
The South Caucasian Railways was placed under the concessional management of Russian Railways company for a term of 30 years.
The agreement can be prolonged for another 10 years given the accord of both parties. -0-
