YEREVAN, June 7. / ARKA /. President Serzh Sargsyan expressed the need for the discussion of the pension reform with the broader society, the press office of President reported.
The new pension system will be implemented in Armenia since 2011.
The reforms will involve the transition to multi-layer pension system, which will consist of two main components - the public distribution and private multi-funded pension system.
"The President of Armenia in the course of the workshop on Friday once again stressed the need to discuss the concept of pension reforms in various sectors of society, including workers and students," it was said in a statement.
"The concept may indeed be well developed, but only with people discussing, it will be possible to build the necessary reserve of trust to make it to a reality. Explanations only through the media are not enough. Such big changes can bring a lot of questions, therefore, the society should be given the opportunity to ask questions and receive satisfactory answers. Only in this case, the citizen can trust the new system," said the president.
According to Sargsyan, initiating a large-scale reform, the state is obliged to discuss in detail all the associated problems, find their solutions and assess the risks.
The President urged the state structures associated with pension reforms, to be consistent in their training and application.
The meeting discussed, inter alia, issues relating to the tax burden on economic entities.
Issues related to the effective management of pension funds, the guarantee funds, availability of services for the society were also touched upon. --0-
