Reformation of Armenia’s state finance administration system planned to be completed in coming decade

The second stage of reformation of Armenia’s state funds administration system is planned to be implemented in the coming decade, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said Wednesday at the discussion of the reformation strategy.
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. The second stage of reformation of Armenia’s state funds administration system is planned to be implemented in the coming decade, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said Wednesday at the discussion of the reformation strategy.

At the first stage, Armenian government, in cooperation with concerned international organizations, has carried out a substantial work focused on building a modern system of state finance administration, forming a legislative ground and infrastructures.

“We must manage to specify the second stage, strategy and principal objectives,” Sargsyan said. He singled out enhancement of fiscal discipline and transparency among the key objectives.
 
Asad Alam, World Bank’s Sector Manager for Europe and Central Asia Region, said that along with post-crisis recovery, its is necessary to think about mid-term development, growth, creation of new jobs, improvement of public services.

He said that the government finance system can contribute to these processes. Alam said that Armenia has already accomplished a great deal in improvement of the government finance administration system, and the fact that the government controlled the budget properly amid the crisis deserves praising. -0--
