AmCham celebrates its 10-th anniversary in Armenia
YEREVAN, July 13, /ARKA/. The American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham) celebrated last week the 10-th anniversary of its inception in Armenia. In an interview with ARKA news agency, AmCham executive director Diana Gaziyan said its priority task to implement lobbying activities.
“Over the last ten years we have been highlighting taxation and customs systems and we have managed to make some progress in this area,’ she said.
Stressing the need for sweeping, radical changes in Armenia’s taxation filed she said the progress was made regarding the timely return of overpaid value added taxes.
‘In cooperation with other associations we are working that overpaid VAT levied on companies dealing with import of goods, are paid in due time. The current law stipulates it,’ she said.
Diana Gaziyan said also that Am,ham organizes various meetings with government officials, conferences and round tables to discuss business related problems and the role of AmCham in helping their solution.
Some 85 companies and organizations representing small, medium and large businesses with American capital and also other companies like ENCO S.P.A., HSBS Bank Armenia, INGO ARMENIA, Unicomp, the First Mortgage Company, Center for Argibusiness and Rural Development, Coca Cola, Ernst and Young, Armenia-Marroitt Hotel are members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia. -0-
