Signing of agreement on free trade with EU depends on Armenia, said Gunnar Wiegand, Head of European group of negotiators, Head of Directorate on the issues of Eastern Europe, North Caucasus and Central Asia.
YEREVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. Signing of agreement on free trade with EU depends on Armenia, said Gunnar Wiegand, Head of European group of negotiators, Head of Directorate on the issues of Eastern Europe, North Caucasus and Central Asia.
Negotiations started on Monday in Yerevan.
Agreement on free trade envisages introduction of European standards or standards close to European in the sphere of economy. Wiegand considered that it will facilitate access of Armenian products into European markets. Prior to this agreement, European side put forth its proposals for the improvement of situation in the sphere of intellectual ownership and protection of competitiveness and Armenian Ministry of Economy started to work in these spheres actively.
Agreement on free trade will be a part of agreement on association.
Agreement on association between Armenia and EU will include guidelines of mutual cooperation in a number of spheres, including foreign policy, provision of security, democracy, economic integration, migration, human rights and energy. The agreement is targeted at the strengthening of political cooperation with EU, promotion of economic integration and access to Armenian and EU markets. –0--
