Construction Process of Transport Corridor North-South Discussed With Armenian Prime Minister

On Monday, construction process of transport corridor North-South was discussed during the meeting by the members of Management Board of Investment Program headed by Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
YEREVAN, August 2. /ARKA/. On Monday, construction process of transport corridor North-South was discussed during the meeting by the members of Management Board of Investment Program headed by Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

General Executive Director of organization of construction process of transport corridor North-South Felix Pirumyan informed the members of the Board about publication of the document “Assessment of the impact of the section of highway Ashtarak-Gyumri of transport corridor North-South on the environment” in the site of Asian Development Bank (ADB).

After summarizing the proposals and remarks, the document will be submitted to the public for discussions.

During the meeting, cost-estimate of expenses 2010 for the transport corridor was discussed.

On January 14, 2010, Government of Armenia approved the construction investment program of transport corridor North-South and framework financial agreement between Armenia and ADB in the total amount of $500 million on the provision of first tranche - $60 million which was signed on September 15, 2009 and October 12, 2009 accordingly.

In the frames of the program, Armenia plans to implement works in the amount of $120 million. This amount includes $60 million of the first tranche and a part of the second tranche from ADB. –0--
