Twenty-one Armenian flower suppliers received permission to export their products to Russia

YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. Twenty-one out of the forty-seven Armenian companies engaged in flower cultivation and export, which were inspected by the Armenian regulator and Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, received permission to export their products to Russia.
"For a month and a half, specialists from the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) had been conducting joint online video monitoring activities in the greenhouses of Armenian flower-growing companies," the Armenian regulator said in a statement.
A total of 47 organizations engaged in flower cultivation (spanning 105.4 hectares) were inspected. Of these, 21 companies (covering 85.7 hectares) received permission to export flowers to the Russian Federation.
The joint work of the Food Safety Inspectorate and Rosselkhoznadzor continues, and new permits for exporting flowers to Russia are expected.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, since the beginning of 2025, more than 71.1 million pieces of cut flowers have been delivered to Russia, which is 47% more than the 48.5 million pieces delivered in the same period of 2024. Last year, a total of 84.4 million flower products were shipped to Russia.
Recently, however, Rosselkhoznadzor limited the import of flowers from Armenia due to an increase in the detection of quarantine diseases and pests. This decision sparked discontent among Armenian flower growers, who protested, demanding a solution to the problem.
There were also rumors that flower exports to Russia would be restricted because the flowers are allegedly imported from third countries and re-exported to the Russian Federation. The Armenian Ministry of Economy officially denied these rumors.
According to Armstat, Armenia grew 110.3 million flowers in the first half of 2025, a 50.5% increase from the same period in 2024.-0-
