YEREVAN, September 7, /ARKA/. The Botanical Garden in Yerevan will host a two-day event designed to tout and promote locally produced goods.
The event called ‘We shall buy Armenia-made goods’ will be held on September 18-19, Arsen Ghazarian, chairman of the Union of Armenian Industrialists and Businessmen said today. He said the goal of the event is to detect and discuss the problems of the country’s light industry and look for ways to resolve them.
“For two days the visitors will be shown locally manufactured light industry goods. They will be also treated to refreshments by the companies,’ he said, adding that 25 companies have already agreed to showcase their goods. In his words, one of the purposes is to show local consumers that Armenia-made goods very often are of much better quality and the prices are quite reasonable.
On the sidelines of the event the visitors will be entertained by song and dance groups. The event will be held as part of a social partnership program with the Botanical Garden.
Local businessmen are expected to donate to help it restore its greenhouse. The event is organized together with the Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences with the assistance of Yerevan municipality. The sponsors are Apaven, Valex Group, Coca Cola, Noyan Tapan companies and UNIDO. -0-
