ArmRosgasprom: Supply of Russian natural gas to Armenia ceased

The conveyance of Russian natural gas to Armenia through Georgia’s territory completely ceased on September 15 because of repair of the Northern Caucasus-South Caucasus gas-main pipeline.
YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. The conveyance of Russian natural gas to Armenia through Georgia’s territory completely ceased on September 15 because of repair of the Northern Caucasus-South Caucasus gas-main pipeline, press office of ArmRosgasprom, the sole importer and distributor of Russian natural gas in Armenia, reported Wednesday referring to Gazprom Export Ltd, a subsidiary of Gazprom, the world largest natural gas exporter to Europe and CIS countries.
The gas conveyance will resume on September 17.
The Armenian-Russian ArmRosgasprom said that this interruption wouldn’t strike at consumers.
Armenia’s Abovyan reservoir has sufficient gas reserves to cater for consumers’ needs.
ArmRosgasprom CJSC was established in 1997. Russian Gazprom holds 80% in the company’s authorized capital.
The remaining 20% belong to the Armenian government.-0-
