YEREVAN, October 11. /ARKA/. Armenia is interesting for Slovenia as economic partner, said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Samuel Žbogar during Armenian-Slovenian business-forum on Monday.

“Slovenia is an open country. Our strategic task is diversification of foreign economic relations. In this regard, Armenia causes a great interest for us”, he said.

On Monday, Armenian-Slovenian business-forum is taking place in Yerevan in the frames of official visit of the President of Slovenia
Danilo Türk. Representatives of about 50 companies participate in the business-forum.

“There are all pre-conditions for the development of economic relations between our countries – political support of the leaders of both states and mutual economic interest”, said Žbogar.

He said that Slovenia is a country with great opportunities.

Trade turnover between two countries grows year-by-year. It is still small but has great potential.

“The most interesting spheres for the development of cooperation can be energy sphere, especially renewed energy, electronics, IT, construction and tourism”, said the Minister.

In 2009, trade turnover between Armenia and Slovenia was $9.5 million. From 2005-2009 this indicator was $35 million. Armenia exports alcohol drinks, spirit, vinegar to Slovenia and imports pharmaceutical goods, essential oil, perfumery, cosmetics and equipment. -0--
