YEREVAN, October 19, /ARKA/. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has committed a total of $20 million in loans to finance implementation of energy efficiency projects in Armenia, Walid Fayad, head of EBRD energy efficiency programs, told today at Novosti international press center in Yerevan.

On Monday, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Armenia’s Bank Anelik signed a new loan agreement in the amount of $3 million (about 1.08 billion Drams) on funding energy saving projects. The credit is provided to the Bank for 5 years. The Bank will on-lend it from October 19, 2010.

The credit will allow to reduce also emission of carbon dioxide by 2,200 tons annually. Suren Shatvoryan, head of ArmSEFF consulting company, said the credits will be given for projects with IRR>10%.".--0--
