Deputy minister: about 170 young families received housing credits by government program of Armenia

By November about 170 young families received housing credits in the frames of state program “Available apartments for young families”, said Armenian Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Issues Arsen Karamyan.

YEREVAN, November 10. /ARKA/. By November about 170 young families received housing credits in the frames of state program “Available apartments for young families”, said Armenian Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Issues Arsen Karamyan.

“Another 27 applications are currently reviewed”, he said.

At present, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Issues jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Central Bank of Armenia is reviewing the package of the program “Available apartments for young families” for the regions.

“75% of applications for receiving credits is from Yerevan. It means that youth of the regions is less solvent. We plan to improve and facilitate the terms of crediting”, said Karamyan.

Maximum size of credit will be the same - 16 million drams. Percent rate for Yerevan will make
8-8.5% and for the regions - 6%.

On January 29, 2010 the Government of Armenia approved the program “Available apartments for young families” costing 3 billion drams. Maximum size of credit is 16 million drams. Government program is implemented through specially established universal credit organization “Apartments for youth”. —0—
