Armenia is interested in boosting its trade and economic relations with the United States, Armenian economy minister Nerses Yeritsian said today at the opening of the 19-th meeting of Armenian-American intergovernmental commission in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, November 15, /ARKA/. Armenia is interested in boosting its trade and economic relations with the United States, Armenian economy minister Nerses Yeritsian said today at the opening of the 19-th meeting of Armenian-American intergovernmental commission in Yerevan.
‘We want to develop cooperation with the United States in those areas in which we have mutual interest, particularly, in trade and economic sectors,’ he said.
The minister noted that Armenia emphasizes the U.S. government’s assistance to help it improve tax and customs administration.
“We are confident that this cooperation will be lasting,’ he said.
According to government data, Armenia’s trade with the USA in the first nine months of 2010 grew 3.4% year-on-year to $145.1 million. Import of U.S.-made goods dropped by 1.5% to $85 million, while the import of goods from the territory of the United States slashed by 20.5% to $102.2 million making 3.8% of all imports.
