Parents should refuse from canned food giving their children mashed potatoes, said the Head of National Association of Consumers Melita Hakobyan.

YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Parents should refuse from canned food giving their children mashed potatoes, said the Head of National Association of Consumers Melita Hakobyan.

“We are used to easy life trying to save time and buy children’s food. Why we should not prepare food for our children ourselves?”, she asked during the press-conference on Thursday.

National Association of Consumers regularly conducts monitoring of children’s food market.

Expert of Association Mileta Aristakesyan said that special attention is paid to nutrition of children in Armenia as it is very important and needs special approach.

Imported food contains many elements alien to the organism of Armenian consumers. She called for using traditional Armenia products, especially decantated matsoun.

Preservatives of imported fruit and children’s food are very dangerous.

“We should not feed our children with artificial food… but give them mashed potatoes and juices of local fruit and vegetables”, she said.--0--
