Armenian Central Bank Clarified The New Procedure Of Pension Payments

CB Armenia clarified the new procedure of pension payment on Monday.
YEREVAN, February 14. /ARKA/. CB Armenia clarified the new procedure of pension payment on Monday.
Currently, 15 banks participate in pension payment process. They are: “Haybusinessbank”, “Araratbank”, “Bank-Anelik”, “Bank VTB (Armenia)”, “Hayeconombank”, “Bank Prometey”, “BTA Bank”, “Armenian Development Bank”, “Conversebank”, “AGBA-Credit Agrocole Bank”, “Artsakhbank”, “Areximbank-Group of Gazprombank”, “Unibank”, “Ardshininvestbank” and “Mellatbank”. There are also six payment organizations (“Adal and Ria”, “E-dram”, “Quadracom”, “Depi tun”, “Mega pantera” and “Haypost”).
In accordance with the new order, each pensioner can decide how he/she wants to receive his pension – in cash by the postman or courier, or non-cash – by opening an account in the chosen bank.
Opening of bank account and its service is free. The banks also suggest payment cards.
The card is provided free-of-charge except receiving money from ATMs of other banks.
For receiving pension by banking account or through payment organization the pensioner can apply to the nearest bank or organization, fill the application on opening bank account for getting pension from the bank or in cash.
The pensioner should submit passport or other identification document envisaged by the law “On state pensions”, pension book or social card. These documents should not be overdue.
Then the bank gives bank account number to the pensioner. In case the pensioner wants to get his/her pension in cash, he should submit a reference from payment organization to the relevant department of the Ministry of Social Welfare for transferring his money on his account or receive it via payment organization.
According to government decree as of November 4, 2010 Armenian pensioners can get their pensions by plastic cards from 2011.
Over 519.8 pensioners live in Armenia as of December 31, 2010. Average pension size is 24 thousand 700 drams.--0--
