Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian received today the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Asad Alam, to discuss prospects for Armenia and World Bank to deepen their partnership relationships, the government pres office told ARKA
YEREVAN, February 22, /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian received today the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Asad Alam, to discuss prospects for Armenia and World Bank to deepen their partnership relationships, the government pres office told ARKA.
It said both men underscored the need to ensure the continuity of ongoing projects and then looked into the prospects for deepening their cooperation within the frameworks of Country Partnership Strategy for 2009-2012.
They also reviewed the ways of distribution of World Bank funds. According to the government press release, the two sides singled out as priorities implementation of joint programs designed to reform the agricultural sector, health, education and administration system.
The prime minister was said to have presented his government-approved strategy for sustainable agricultural development for 2010-2020.
In this sense Tigran Sarkisian stressed the importance of measures that will be implemented to boost consolidation of farms, enhance cattle breeding, seed growing and technical re-equipment.
In the context of health reforms they stressed the importance of hospitals repair, training of personnel and introduction of a single system in conformity with international standards. -0-
