Grand Candy expanding output in Armenia
YEREVAN, February 23, /ARKA/. The Grand Candy company of a parliament member Karen Vardanian is expanding output in Armenia, Armenia’s Second TV Channel said, to once again deny media speculations that the Vardanians family were moving some of his Armenia-based businesses to neighboring Georgia because of its more favorable legislation and a business friendly climate.
Karen Vardanian, who is also a parliament member, denied the rumors saying the company has a lot of plans designed to increase production volume and is determined to move forward.
In an interview with the TV channel he said the company plans to create some 2,000 new jobs in the
next ten years in addition to 230 new jobs created over the last five months. He said the company has commissioned a new candy producing workshop and two more are under construction. The company will also open two more stores in Ava Arindj and Aresh districts of Yerevan.
Grand Candy was set up in 2000. Today it is the largest Armenian confectionary producing 350 names of various products. It is the only cocoa processing company in the South Caucasus. -0-
