YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Median nominal salary in Armenia reached AMD 104,051 ($285, €213 or 8,557 Russian rubles) in January 2011 after rising 4.5%, compared with the same month a year before, but falling 23.9%, compared with December 2010, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
The median nominal salary amounted to AMD 136,729 in December 2010 – 4.5% year-on-year rise.
The highest median salary, AMD 173,600, was in Syunik province, and the lowest salary was in Aragatsotn province – AMD 89,200.
In Yerevan, median salary amounted to AMD 155,200 in December 2010.
Financial and insurance sectors’ employees had highest salaries (over AMD 494,000). Mining industry’s workers earned a median salary exceeding AMD 291,700.
An employee at IT and communications areas earned AMD 275,100.
Personnel at state administration establishments had AMD 187,800 median salary.
People employed by electricity- gas- and steam-supplying companies earned 180,300 on average.
Constructors’ median salary exceeded AMD 179,300.
The lowest-paid people were those working in culture and rest areas. Their average salary amounted to AMD 68,900.
Accommodation and catering workers earned AMD 70,200 median salary.
