INGO Armenia’s insurance payments totalled AMD 490 million in 2010, Levon Altunyan, executive director of the company, said Wednesday at a news conference in Novosti International Press Center.
YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. INGO Armenia’s insurance payments totalled AMD 490 million in 2010, Levon Altunyan, executive director of the company, said Wednesday at a news conference in Novosti International Press Center.

“In 2010, the company paid AMD 500 million as compensations - the record high, as the average size of insurance payment remained unchanged” he said.

Altunyan said car, medical, property risk and accident insurances are leaders in the structure of insurance.
The largest payment made for incurred damage so far was $150,000 on property risks.
AMD 4.6 million was paid as compensations on medical insurance and AMD 12.06 million as compensations on vehicle insurance.

“These high indicators show the necessity of insurance in Armenia, since damages grew to catastrophic amounts, which are very high, considering family budgets,”

In 2010, the company carried out 10,400 payments on medical insurance, 35 on accident insurance, 638 on car insurance and 498 on foreign travel insurance.

INGO ARMENIA was established in 1997 as EFES CJS.

Russian Ingosstrakh bought 75% of the company’s shares in 2003. After that the company was renamed INGO ARMENIA Insurance CJSC.

The remaining 25% belong to Levon Altunyan.

The company’s authorized capital amounts to AMD 750.9 million.

INGO ARMENIA company’s assets totaled AMD 4.2 billion and liabilities AMD 2.5 million in late December.

Its total capital amounted to AMD 1.6 billion.

The company’s net losses for 2010 amounted to AMD 59.7 million. ($1 = AMD 367.53). -0-
