Anti-monopolistic Committee of Armenia instituted legal proceedings towards poultry plant “Lusakert”

State committee on the protection of economic competitiveness instituted legal proceedings towards the poultry plant “Lusakert” by the results of egg market monitoring.
YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. State committee on the protection of economic competitiveness instituted legal proceedings towards the poultry plant “Lusakert” by the results of egg market monitoring.
Due to the situation in the egg market in December 2010, the Committee started monitoring in the plant and in other companies working in the egg market.
On the eve of the New Year increase of egg prices was registered in the Armenian egg market - 55-60 to 140 drams per egg. The above mentioned companies explained this fact by the market deficit due to insufficient number of laying hen. Majority of them was killed after abrupt decline of egg prices in Armenia (from 40-50 to 10 drams per egg).
There are six large companies operating in the Armenian egg production market – “Yerevan poultry plant”, poultry plant “Lusakert”, “Arzni poultry plant”, “Poultry plant Araks”, “Poultry plant Ashtarak” and “Lusakert factory “Harutyun” which cover 95% of the market. The share of “Lusakert” poultry plant is 26.06% of the market. -0-
