Armenian Card and Dutch PUM to sign memorandum of understanding

YEREVAN, April 18, /ARKA/. The Foundation PUM Netherlands Senior Experts (the Netherlands), represented by Chief Executive Officer Arthur Matthijs van Praag and the Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Foundation (Armenia), represented by Director Gagik Sardaryan will sign April 21 a Memorandum of Understanding, CARD press service told ARKA.

It said the objective of signing the MoU is to contribute to the development of Armenian agricultural sector through provision of targeted and efficient support to the SMEs, small scale farmers and farmers’ cooperatives, as well as government initiatives. Both organizations contribute to improve the value added production in agriculture and food processing according to the local and international market needs through trainings, technical assistance and demonstration projects.

Dutch Government organization PUM Netherlands Senior Experts has over thirty years of experience in advising businesses in developing countries and emerging markets. Since its foundation in 1978, PUM has expanded to become Europe’s largest ‘temping agency’ for the deployment of professional volunteers, applying the motto of ‘entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs’. PUM provides assistance to small and medium sized enterprises through sending out retired entrepreneurs (experts) as volunteers thus contributing to the improvement of economic performance in general.

CARD is an independent local Armenian foundation committed to becoming a prime agricultural service provider in the Caucasus that will lead to sustainable agricultural and agribusiness development in Armenia and in the Caucasus. CARD assists farmers and agribusinesses in the production and marketing of food and related products to increase incomes and creates jobs leading to sustainable livelihoods for rural population through PUM experts. -0-
