Head of CBA: inflation in Armenia in late 2011 to reduce twice compared with the indicator of the beginning of the year

By the results of 2011 inflation in Armenia can reach half of the indicator at the beginning of the year, said the chairman of CBA Artur Javadyan on Thursday after the meeting with the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
YEREVAN, April 28. /ARKA/. By the results of 2011 inflation in Armenia can reach half of the indicator at the beginning of the year, said the chairman of CBA Artur Javadyan on Thursday after the meeting with the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

In January 2011 compared with January 2010, inflation in Armenia was 10.6%.

As predicted by the experts and specialists of CBA, “inflation will be reflected in single digits in 12 months or will be close to 10%”.

According to the National Statistic Service of Armenia, inflation in Armenia in March 2011 compared with February is 11.5%. Growth in consumer prices by 0.8% was recorded.

According to state budget 2011, inflation in Armenia was planned on the level of 4% (±1.5%). The government forecasts that inflation in Armenia in 2011 will be 6%, by EBRD assessments it will be within the state budget indicator and by IMF forecast – will return to the target corridor in the first half of 2012. --0--
