Zvartnots, international airport in Yerevan, handled more than 403,000 passengers in Jan-Apr 2011 against 365,800 in the same period a year earlier, the Chief Civil Aviation Department of Armenia reports.

YEREVAN, May 17. /ARKA/. Zvartnots, international airport in Yerevan, handled more than 403,000 passengers in Jan-Apr 2011 against 365,800 in the same period a year earlier, the Chief Civil Aviation Department of Armenia reports.

Over 180,600 people arrived and 222,600 departed in Jan-Apr 2011 against 160,200 and 205,600 respectively a year before.

Some 2,377 tons of cargoes were brought to Armenia through the Zvartnots airport over the first four months of this year against 2,308 tons in the same period of the previous year.

Takeoffs and landings totaled 2,669 in Jan-Apr 2011 against 2,535 in the same period a year earlier.

Shirak, reserve airport in Gyumri, handled 14,900 passengers in Jan-Apr 2011 against 5,500 in Jan-Apr 2010.

Some 7,200 tons of cargoes transported to the airport in Jan-Apr 2011 against 600 tons in the same period of the previous year.

The number of takeoffs and landings grew from 60 in Jan-Apr 2010 to 68 in the same period of this year. -0-
