YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. On Friday, the Armenian government approved a set of amendments to the law on excise and VAT calling for exempting imported agricultural machinery and fertilizers from VAT.

Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan told journalists after the Cabinet’s session that these amendments came as part of the government’s policy promoting agriculture.

“After passage of the amendments by the National Assembly Armenian entrepreneurs will be able to import agricultural machinery and fertilizers under preferential conditions,” he said. “This will spur development of plant cultivation and drive prices for agricultural products down.” -0-
