GeoProMining CEO inspects status of social projects in Vardenis

The president of GeoProMining (GPM) company, Roman Khudoliy, was last Saturday in Gegharkunik province to attend the opening of an interactive Russian language teaching classroom at number 4 secondary school in Vardenis town.
YEREVAN, May 23. / ARKA /. The president of GeoProMining (GPM) company, Roman Khudoliy, was last Saturday in Gegharkunik province to attend the opening of an interactive Russian language teaching classroom at number 4 secondary school in Vardenis town.
The classroom was designed by Rossotrudnichestvo, a Russian government agency in charge of relations with foreign countries and was furnished with the financial assistance of GeoProMining. Roman Khudoliy also examined the pace of reconstruction of culture house in the town. Deputy prime minister Armen Gevorkian also attended the classroom opening ceremony.
GeoProMining provided a $20,000 financial assistance to help establish and equip the interactive Russian language teaching classroom. The classroom is furnished with video and slide projectors, interactive whiteboard, webcam, screens and 11 computers for innovative methods of teaching Russian. It is the only such classroom in Gegharkunik region.
"Our companies are actually single-industries in this region, and this is why the company approaches businesses with great social responsibility,’ Roman Khudoliy said.
Roman Khudoliy and Armen Gevorkian visited also the house of culture in Vardenis, now under major reconstruction in the framework of an agreement on social development cooperation, signed in 2010 by the Armenian Social Investment Fund, GeoProMining and the provincial administration of Gegharkunik region. Some 127 million drams were allocated for its renovation by the Social Investment Fund, 108 million drams by GeoProMining Gold and another 90 million by the government.
"The culture house project is one of the best examples of an interaction between the government and private sector," added Roman Khudoliy.
According to Gevorkian, the reconstruction of the house of culture is likely to be completed by the end of the year.
GPM acquired 100% stake in Sterlite Gold Ltd from Vedanta Resources in September 2007. Sterlite Gold Ltd was the sole owner of Ararat Gold Recovery Company (AGRC), now renamed GPM GOLD.
Founded in 2001, CC GPM is an international privately owned company with a diversified resource base metals, which produces gold in the form of the alloy "Dora" and copper, molybdenum and antimony concentrates. GeoProMining enterprises are based in Armenia, Russia and Georgia. GPM plans to invest over the next three years about $ 120 million in its Armenian assets - GPM Gold and Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Plant. -0-
