Tax evasion by Armenian entrepreneurs is absolutely unacceptable phenomenon, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Thursday at the fourth congress of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Armenia.
YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. Tax evasion by Armenian entrepreneurs is absolutely unacceptable phenomenon, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Thursday at the fourth congress of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Armenia.

He said that some entrepreneurs in Armenia use sophisticated tricks for evading taxes or abuse their dominance in markets to gain excess profits.

He said that the conduct of large businessmen who enjoy advantages thanks to their volumes and turnovers deserves special condemnation.

“Unpaid taxes are the money pocketed from education and healthcare sectors,” he said. “This strikes hard at our country’s future.”

The president said entrepreneurs and the government should combat this phenomenon with joint efforts. -0-
