Sale of tickets for the train “Armenia” increased twice
YEREVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. From June 6 to July 15, 2011, 11725 tickets were sold of the route Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan.
This indicator exceeds the indicator of 2010 by 95% when 6023 tickets were sold.
As of July 15, 2011, 5947 passengers used the services of the train “Armenia” which exceeds the indicator of 2010 (4213 passengers) by 41%.
Daily passenger train “Armenia” started to run by the route Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan since June 15. The route from Yerevan to Batumi is 16 hours 37 minutes and the way back - 16 hours 55 minutes. Reduction of time was due to renovation activities of railway and rolling stock by SCR.
It is planned to put an additional social passenger train Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan into operation which will work on Tuesdays and Fridays.
This year train tickets are sold by automated sale system “Orion” which excludes opportunity of double sale and allows to avoid queues.
CJSC “South-Caucasian Railway” is a 100% subsidiary of OJSC “Russian Railways” implementing concession management of CJSC “Armenian Railways” according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. Term of the concession is 30 years with the right of extension for another 10 years.-- 0 -
