Armenia managed to quickly response to the inflation growth due to which now the rates of growth reduce, said newly appointed head of Armenian mission Мark Horton during the meeting with the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Armenia managed to quickly response to the inflation growth due to which now the rates of growth reduce, said newly appointed head of Armenian mission Мark Horton during the meeting with the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
“I congratulate you for this achievement due to which you managed to get positive results in the sphere of agriculture”, said Horton.
The situation compared to March when the mission was the last time in Armenia, was changed drastically.
“In March inflation was growing rapidly. Now, I consider there is no necessity to speak about inflation in Armenia seeing how rapidly its growth is reducing”, he said.
During the meeting the main directions of economic policy, the steps targeted at the development of economy of the country and its future perspectives were also discussed.
According to the data of Armenian National Statistic Service, inflation in August 2011 in Armenia compared with the same period of 2010 was 4.8% which is mainly conditioned by the price increase of food products (including alcohol drinks and tobacco products) by 6.9% and non-food products - 3%.
Deflation in August 2011 compared to December 2010 was 0.2%. -0-
