Entrepreneurs From Armenian Communities Across World Should Earn Money In Armenia

Entrepreneurs from Armenian communities across the world should make investments in Armenia, not only donate money to the country, Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyayn said Monday at the Armenia-Diaspora Conference.
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Entrepreneurs from Armenian communities across the world should make investments in Armenia, not only donate money to the country, Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyayn said Monday at the Armenia-Diaspora Conference.
More than 500 representatives and heads of Armenian organizations from 45 countries, including CIS countries less Azerbaijan, gathered in Yerevan to attend this unprecedented conference. Armenian and Karabakhi presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan, attended the conference.
Hakobyan said it would be reasonable to entrepreneurs from abroad to do business in Armenia and earn money here.
“We should break the mould and stop viewing Armenia only as subject for donations,” she said. In her opinion, Armenia is also place for earning money.
The minister said that if an entrepreneur from Armenian communities overseas benefits from doing business here, it means he help lessening migration, poverty and unemployment in the country.
She said that the main aim of the conference is to elaborate an Armenia-Diaspora joint strategy.
“We intend to discuss all the aspects of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation,” she said. “The results of this cooperation will serve as a basis for our future work. We should outline top-priority objectives of all the Armenians living worldwide, set a national agenda and adopt appropriate documents.”
Hakobyan said that all the Armenians living all over the globe should integrate in their societies and become members of these societies, but remain devoted to their roots and preserve their identity avoiding assimilation.
“Our young people should learn mother tongue, know Armenian culture and religion,” she said.
In her words, some 600 families moved to Armenia from other countries for permanent residence.
“Taking into account the importance of this issue, we have worked out a repatriation program, and the law on repatriation is in the National Assembly now,” Hakobyan said.
She said that Armenia and Armenian communities overseas should have a common approach to the some very important issues. --0--
