Railway transport council of CIS countries to hold regular meeting on October 28-29 in Yerevan

55th meeting of Railway Transport Council of CIS member-countries will be held on October 28-29 in Yerevan, press-service of “South-Caucasian Railway” (SCR) informed.
YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. 55th meeting of Railway Transport Council of CIS member-countries will be held on October 28-29 in Yerevan, press-service of “South-Caucasian Railway” (SCR) informed.

Members of the Council plan to discuss the results of implementation of decisions adopted in the last meeting, normatives of the schedule of trains for 2012/2013, process of mutual settlements between railway administrations, tariff policy on cargo transportation of international traffic for 2012 freight year.

Meeting of the Council will be broadcasted in the site of SCR (http://www.ukzhd.am/55.html).

“Republic of Armenia gives a great importance to the development of railway infrastructure and establishment of railway communication with partner-states. The main load of responsibility and works in this direction lies on SCR which is a national transport company”, said SCR General Director Shevket Shaydulin.

Shaydulin expressed confidence that the meeting of the Council in Yerevan will be a good platform for discussions of actual issues, development of new directions for railway, establishment of new fruitful cooperation between railway administrations of CIS countries.

Railway Transport Council was established to coordinate the work of railway transport at the international level and to develop agreed principles of its activity on February 14, 1992.

Members of the Council are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Associated members of the structure are Bulgaria, Georgia, Latvia and Finland, and under the contract of the works Lithuania and Estonia are involved. Status of observer in the Council has International Confederation of Trade Unions of railway workers and transport constructors.  –0--
