YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. Armenian finance minister Vache Gabrielian said today Armenia’s taxation legislation is in the process of permanent improvement and there is no need for revolutionary actions to better, when speaking to journalists on comments on the latest World Bank report ‘Paying Taxes 2012. The Global Picture.’

According to the report, Armenia has improved its position six notches rising to 153rd position. The report released by the World Bank (WB), International Finance Corporation (IFC) and PriceWaterhouseCooper auditing and consulting firm covers 183 countries. According to it, in terms of the number of paid taxes Armenia's rating has been improved by 46 notches to 120th place, in terms of time required to complete tax documents Armenia has risen by three notches to 166th place. With regard to the tax rate, Armenia fell by six notches to 100th place.

"Because the tax system has fiscal implications, revolutionary changes are unacceptable," said Gabrielian.

The minister said the frequency of tax payments has been reduced this year, including taxes on land and income. "As a result, payments now take less time,” he said.

Gabrielian also added that Armenia has improved its position in the Doing Business report by six notches rising to 55th position. -0-
