European commission can get a mandate in 2011 for starting negotiations on visas with Armenia
YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. Board of Ministers of European Union can give a mandate to European Commission at the end of December for starting negotiations with the Government of Armenia on signing mutual agreements on facilitation of visa regime and re-admission, said on Friday EU Observer, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs in EU Poland Mikolaj Dowgielewicz.
"On our behalf we would like to finish the work in EU Council on mandate (European Commission) to sign agreements with Armenia on visa facilitation and readmission by the end of December”, said Dowgielewicz after the regular meeting of Council of EU-Armenia, RIA Novosti informs.
European Commissioner on the Expansion and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle said that the parties have not yet defined the exact date of the start of negotiations, waiting for the mandate from the Council of European Commission.
He expressed hope that negotiation process will be launched at the beginning of 2012 in Danish representation of EC.
