YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. The issue of joint management of customs stations in Armenian-Georgian border was discussed yesterday in the meeting of government delegations of both countries in Tbilisi, said Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze to the journalists.

During two-day visit of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan to Tbilisi headed by the Armenian delegation, agreement “On cooperation in border area” was signed between Georgian Interior Ministry and National Security Service of Armenia.

"In the meeting a broad range of bilateral relations, first of all in trade, energy, development of infrastructure, particularly joint management of customs stations was discussed for time reduction which the citizens of Georgia and Armenia spend in the check points”, said Vashadze, RIA Novosti informs.

Georgian Economy and Stable Development Minister Vera Kobalia said that to the journalists that in the check points between Georgia and Armenia the principle of "one window" will start to operate.

"For example, if an Armenian car passes the check point, there will be no necessity to stop it in the second check point. Long procedures in the check points hinder business and tourism development”, said Kobalia.

She informed to news agency "News-Georgia" that trade turnover between Georgia and Armenia in nine months of 2011 was 238 million dollars which is by 30% more than in the same period of the last year. Export of Georgia to Armenia was 185 million dollars.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze said in the briefing that Sargsyan’s visit is a response to the visit of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to Yerevan at the beginning of the year. —0—
