“The indicator of trade turnover is too small and I am confident that we have tasks to be performed in this sphere”, Sargsyan’s words were cited in the press-service of the President’s Office to ARKA News Agency.

He said that during the meeting Saakashvili assessed the progress in bilateral economic-trade cooperation where over 20% growth was registered this year.

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation development with Georgia in energy, transport and culture spheres.

“In the upcoming months we will start construction works of transport corridor North-South, thus joining to the recovered highway Ninotsminda-Batumi in the territory of Georgia which will provide quick and convenient cargo transportation from Persian Bay to Georgian ports. In Georgia they know what is a highway in accordance with European standards and I consider that next year population of Armenia will also see the advantages of such infrastructures”, said Sargsyan.

He added that Armenia undertakes steps in the direction of synchronization of energy systems. “This is also very important”, resumed Sargsyan. –0—
