The Armenian government has decided today to release 305.3 million drams to pay as compensations to individuals and companies whose land will be alienated for building new border check points at Bavra and Bagratashen on the border with Georgia.

YEREVAN, December 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has decided today to release 305.3 million drams to pay as compensations to individuals and companies whose land will be alienated for building new border check points at Bavra and Bagratashen on the border with Georgia.

The chairman of State Revenue Committee, Gagik Khachatryan, said the decision complies with a government program of actions designed to improve border security and improve border management in 2011-2015. The total land to be alienated is 22.5 hectares.

Khachatryan said this program is of great national importance and will assist in strengthening border security, ensuring unimpeded movement of people and goods through the checkpoint and will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said a delegation of the European Investment Bank will be visiting Armenian December 12-14 and ‘we will have to discuss, including also with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, provision of new loans to start the construction work in the first quarter of next year." -0-
