3.9% GDP growth recorded in Armenia in Jan-Sept 2014 – economy ministry

Armenia recorded a 3.9% GDP growth in Jan-Sept 2014 against 2.8% in Jan-Sep 2013, Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan said Friday at a news conference.

YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. Armenia recorded a 3.9% GDP growth in Jan-Sept 2014 against 2.8% in Jan-Sep 2013, Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan said Friday at a news conference.
In his words, economic activity reached its peak in Jan-Sept – 4.3%, but slid to 3.8% in Jan-Nov.
“As a whole, growth was recorded in all the segments of Armenia’s economy but construction in Jan-Nov 2014,” the minister said.
He said that industrial output grew 2.6% to AMD 1160.5 billion, services 7.1% to AMD 987.4 billion, agriculture 6.5% to AMD 920.7 billion and trade turnover 4.2% to AMD 2076.5 billion, while construction fell 5.4% to AMD 344.5 billion.
Chshmarityan stressed that the ministry makes every effort to ensure the indicators projected in the government’s budget and program. In the government budget for 2014, economic growth is projected at 5.2% and in the 2015 budget real GDP growth is projected at 4.1%. ($1 – AMD 459.3). --0-----
