YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. Audit-consulting company Grant Thornton Amyot celebrated the 10th anniversary of its activities in Armenia.

The company started its activities in Armenia in 1997 with only ten employees, undeveloped customers network and limited demand and scope, the Director and a stockholder of Grant Thornton Amyot Arman Pinarbasi told a press conference in Yerevan.

In ten years the company managed not only to increase the clients’ network up to almost 300 biggest organizations of Armenia, but also spread world values in the sphere of audit and consulting and increase its own staff to 120 employees, Pinarbasi said.

According to him, Grant Thornton Amyot works in Armenia in banking and financial fields, insurance, diamond industry, mining industry, energy sector, transport, aviation, construction, communications, and information technologies.

Pinarbasi pointed out that the company carries out auditing in state and private organizations, works with public and international organizations, including World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, GTZ Association of Technical Cooperation of Germany, KfW German bank, UNO agencies, the U.S. Agency of International Development.

The company currently provides its services to the biggest Armenian companies both in the volume of income and the number of employees, Pinarbasi said. Particularly, the company works in Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Ethical approach, quality control, independent opinion and improvement of personnel qualifications are among the fundamental principles of the company, Pinarbasi said.

The Chairman of Grant Thornton (France) Daniel Kiurkchian expressed hope for success of Grant Thornton Amyot.

In the last ten years we have been convinced that an excellent team has been formed and that there are bright specialists and successful development. I am very satisfied and proud that the business we set up has become completely Armenian and has good development prospects,” Kiurkchian said.

Grant Thornton started its activities in Armenia as far back as in 1991. In 1994 Grant Thornton France established its affiliated company in Armenia which later was reorganized to audit-consulting company “Grant Thornton Amyot”.

“Grant Thornton Amyot” is a full member of Grant Thornton International, one of the biggest world organizations in the field of audit and consulting. The annual profit of Grant Thornton International is to total $3.5bln by the end of 2007. –0—
