YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. The draft budget of Armenia for 2008 is the most important result of the Government’s work, Speaker of the RA Parliament, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Tigran Torosyan stated at the RPA’s 11th congress.
“The draft budget not only provides for an unprecedented increase in incomes, in the share of tax revenues in the GDP as a result of corruption control as well as social reforms and considerable rise in living standards,” he said.
Torosyan considers obvious the fact that the RA Government mains its efforts to raise the living standards at the second stage of reforms. “This is a logical continuation of the Government’s work during the previous years. Over the last seven years of the Government’s close cooperation with the President and National Assembly we have recorded results we can be proud of,” he said.
Torosyan pointed out a 4.4-fold increase in Armenia’s exports over the last ten years – from $230mln to $1bln, whereas imports have only increased 2.2 times.
“Moreover, ten years ago imports exceeded exports four times ten years ago, whereas it is 1-2 times now. A considerable change in the import/export structure has been recorded, and per capita GDP has increased eight times,” he said.
According to Armenia’s draft budget for 2008, budget revenues are to total 744.7bln AMD, on-budget expenditures 820.8bln AMD, with the budget deficit to be 76bln AMD.–0--
