Small & Medium business needs to be developed in Armenia

Small and medium business (SME) needs to be developed in Armenia, said Arthur Baghdasarian, leader of the Orinats Yerkir (Sate of Law) Opposition Party, presidential candidate, introducing his election program.

YEREVAN, January 21. /ARKA/. Small and medium business (SME) needs to be developed in Armenia, said Arthur Baghdasarian, leader of the Orinats Yerkir (Sate of Law) Opposition Party, presidential candidate, introducing his election program.

"Armenia’s economy will soon be in a blind alley, small and medium business being annihilated in the country,” he said.
Baghdasarian attached importance to the development of science intensive economy, based on efficient strategic programs. The candidate suggested making “passports” for each region in order to find out problems and solve them.

Baghdasarian pointed out that according to the World Economic Forum, Armenia is the 93rd country with competition rates among 131 countries (yielding to Georgia, Azerbaijan and Russia).

Presidential election in Armenia is scheduled for February 19, 2008. The RA Central Electoral Commission has nominated nine candidates. –0--
