YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. The program of the Armenian government for 2008-2012 focuses on bridging the gap between the capital and other regions of the country, RA Minister of Finances Tigran Davtyan said.
“A priority task for the government is to ensure an equal territorial development in the capital and other regions with further plans to ensure advance development in provinces, the minister said in an interview to the Public TV of Armenia. The minister expressed confidence that at the final stage of the program, based on clear mechanisms of implementation, the gap between the capital and provinces will have been substantially reduced.
The government is also going to pioneer a number of national programs on various spheres. These will be priority programs requiring additional resources and efforts by the government.
Despite the expected leading development of provinces any discrimination is ruled out since the same approach will apply to all the other spheres. The National Assembly of Armenia approved the program of the government for 2008-2012 on April 30. --0--
