Products liable to excise tax to be exported to Russia with no additional taxes
YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Products liable to excise tax will be exported to Russia without additional duties and examinations, said Chairman of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA) Arsen Ghazaryan.
Deputy Head of the RF Customs Service Leonid Shornikov and Armenian officials discussed on March 2008 possible facilitation of the Armenian-Russian customs examination system.
“Next week the Armenian delegation leaves for Moscow to sign a relevant agreement with Russia,” Ghazaryan said.
According to the document, Armenian alcohol exports to Russia will not require additional customs examination and will be extra duty-free.
The new system implies that the so-called black parcel is to be sealed in Armenia and opened in Russia, according to Ghazaryan.
He said Russia has introduced a similar system with Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The UMBA Chairman expressed hope the agreement will be highly productive.
Deputy Chairman of the RA Customs Service Gagik Khachatryan formerly reported local exporters plan to simplify the Armenian-Russian customs examination system which implies labeling of exports. The process is to be wrapped up in mid 2008. Z. Sh. –0--
