YEREVAN, March 3./ARKA/. Pensions and benefits for approximately 600,000 Armenian citizens will be increased by 10,000 drams, announced RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan during a discussion on pension increases with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Pashinyan previously announced that a 10,000 drams increase is planned for Armenia starting April 1, 2026.

Noting that, overall, 660,000 citizens benefit from the program, Torosyan explained that for some categories of citizens, pensions will increase by more than 10,000 drams. "For example, pensions for citizens with long-term military service, those who have lost a breadwinner, and those who became disabled during military service will increase by 15,000 drams, 20,000 drams, and in rare cases, 50,000 drams," the minister said, adding that in rare cases where the pension exceeds 90,000 drams, the increase will be 5,000-7,000 drams.

According to Torosyan, the average pension should not be lower than the consumer basket, which was 61,800 drams in the third quarter of 2025. He explained that while the average pension currently stands at 49,500 drams, after the increase, it will reach 59,200 drams.

Speaking about the cashback system, the head of the Ministry of Social Affairs noted that while 400,000 pensioners received cashback in December 2025, this number increased to 415,000 in January of this year.
